Schulich Leader Scholarship - Up to $120,000

Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships. One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000* for science and math scholarships. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.

Fraser Valley Realtors' Charitable Foundation Bursary - NOW CLOSED
The Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation is proud to offer a $1,000 bursary for every Secondary School and Learning Centre in the Surrey School District.
General Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Resident status.
2. The candidate must be a graduate of the Surrey School District.
3. In order to receive the funds the candidate must have plans to attend an accredited Canadian university, college or technical school in the 2024/25 school year.
4. For our purposes, “post- secondary institution” shall be defined as follows:
a. A recognized Canadian university
b. Canadian colleges offering transfer courses
c. Canadian institutions which prepare students for specific trades and vocations and which are recognized and
supported by the government (eg. BCIT)
5. Bursaries are classed as earnings and reportable to CRA. Recipients of a bursary will be required to provide their social insurance number, if they have not already done so, prior to receiving their award.
6. Please note the winner’s name and application will be shared with the FVRCF and may be published in local newspapers subject to completion of a Media Release Form. Consent is optional.
7. The funds provided through the FVRCF Bursary is intended to be flexible and can be used, not only for tuition, but for other related expenses as well.

Handwritten and altered/modified applications will not be accepted.

Cmolik Foundation Scholarship - Up to $45,000

Every year, the Cmolik Foundation awards up to 20 scholarships, each one a maximum of $40,000 paid over five years of study, to students graduating from BC high schools. Scholarship recipients have faced adversity but have responded with positivity and tenacity, achieving academic and social goals. With hard work and support, their post-secondary dreams can become a reality. You can find more information by visiting their website here.

BC Excellence Award - $5,000

The BC Excellence scholarship is awarded to 55 well-rounded high school graduates who have demonstrated service and leadership, both at school and in their communities, and who show aptitude for and commitment to their chosen career or area of post-secondary study.
Successful recipients are awarded a $5,000 scholarship voucher from the Ministry of Education and Child Care that they can use to be reimbursed for tuition paid after they are attending a post-secondary institution that is designated by the Province of B.C. (i.e., approved for Canada Student Loans) or a program provider that is approved by the Industry Training Authority.
Students have five years to redeem their BC Excellence scholarship vouchers; an expiry date is printed on each voucher and extensions are not possible.

Only students who fulfill the following conditions will be eligible to apply for and receive a BBF Bursary
Frank Hurt Secondary is allowed to nominate up to 2 students for this award. These students will then have the opportunity to complete the actual application package. If you meet the criteria above and the Eligibility Requirements listed on the link above, and feel you would like to apply, please answer the questions on the application package below and hand it into Ms. Dawson in the Career Centre (or on TEAMs or email - dawson_t) before 3pm on February 16, 2024.

- You require financial assistance to be able to attend a post-secondary institution.
- You must have a combined family income under $50,000 per year. Successful applicants will be asked to bring an official document (e.g. family income tax statement, evidence of government assistance) to the interview.
- You have the ability academically and emotionally to succeed in a post-secondary educational environment.
- You demonstrate the tenacity to achieve your goals.
- You must plan to attend and study full-time at a public post-secondary university, college, or trade school.
- Scholarships received by students from other sources that exceed $2,000 must be disclosed and may be considered when calculating BBF's bursary, however, scholarships up to $2,000 will not reduce the amount of financial support given by BFF.
- Individuals eligible for the Tuition Waiver Program (Youth in Care) are not eligible for this bursary.
Frank Hurt Secondary is allowed to nominate up to 2 students for this award. These students will then have the opportunity to complete the actual application package. If you meet the criteria above and the Eligibility Requirements listed on the link above, and feel you would like to apply, please answer the questions on the application package below and hand it into Ms. Dawson in the Career Centre (or on TEAMs or email - dawson_t) before 3pm on February 16, 2024.
